It has been located on the north side of the Chancellery building of Lübeck Town Hall since 1975.
The inscription was an invitation to each and every one of us to strive for the reunification of Germany in our country, which was divided until November 9, 1989.
After the fall of the Wall and reunification, which was celebrated with a ceremony in Berlin on October 3, 1990 and in which most people no longer believed, the sentence was added in 1994: "The goal has been achieved." Such a simple statement about a significant event in world history.
