Pearls of the Baltic Sea

Your resort trip along Lübeck Bay

Travemünde’s most beautiful sisters

Travemünde – this is where your holiday starts and finishes! Our relaxed resort will help you switch off from everyday life and whet your appetite for more sea and above all, more resort life. So it’s a good thing the coastal towns on Lübeck Bay are lined up like pearls on a string. No two are alike - one tranquil, one lively, one traditional, one modern, Travemünde’s beautiful sisters invite you to pay them a visit. Let’s go resort hopping!

Timmendorfer Strand

Travemünde’s neighbour to the west welcomes you with an exclusive lifestyle and action aplenty right on the Baltic Sea. There’s always something brewing in bubbly Timmendorfer Strand. The lively town centre around the new Kurpark will allow you to indulge your shopping fancies and tempts you with its many fashionable restaurants and cafés.

To Timmendorf

If you need some peace and quiet, the quaint fishermen's harbour awaits you right next Timmendorfer Strand in idyllic Niendorf. Get a fish roll to eat as you go and sit down and relax on the waterfront – bon appetit!

To Niendorf

Things are pretty stylish on the long promenade in hip Scharbeutz. Here you can stroll casually between dune grass and Baltic Sea sand and reward yourself with a Caribbean cocktail in the beach lounge – cheers! And now: Attention sun worshippers!

To Scharbeutz

The best place to spread out your beach towel is in the bathing paradise of Haffkrug. There is lots of space for you on the wide beach behind the natural dunes, and the water is initially nice and flat and therefore warm – i.e. warm as in north Germany.

To Haffkrug

You will also be greeted by a picturesque Baltic Sea idyll in family-friendly Sierksdorf. Our tip: Grab your bicycle and pay a visit to the farmyard cafés. They have the tastiest cakes.

Neustadt in Holstein

Would you like to experience harbour town flair? In that case, say Ship Ahoy in the maritime port of Neustadt in Holstein! Many a large, traditional sailing ship has berthed at the portside. Of course, the view can be best enjoyed with a freshly pulled beer from Klüvers Brauhaus.

To Neustadt

Great, greater, Grömitz – here you have the entire Baltic Sea resort package. A long, white sandy beach, a sailing area and a lengthy pier convey a maritime lifestyle at the top of Lübeck Bay where the sea opens up again.

To Grömitz
Klützer Winkel

If you wave across the bay from Grömitz to the opposite shoreline, you will get a returning wave from the aristocratic Klützer Winkel. Travemünde’s neighbour to the east prides itself on its two beautiful castle grounds further inland and invites you thereafter to enjoy the seaside resort of Boltenhagen.
