People often forget that sustainability is about much more than climate change. It's also about appreciation, care and community. Our artists are local and we know many of them personally. Decorative elements and pieces of equipment are used repeatedly and reused in a variety of ways.

We use green electricity. The electricity we use for concerts, refrigeration, food preparation and evening lighting comes from 100% renewable sources such as wind or solar power. That's pretty good, but we think it's even better not to use any electricity at all!

We have been looking at the energy consumption of our festival and working on to find more ways to save energy. In this case, less is more! For example, we opted for food trucks with low energy food preparation and focused on short transport routes when selecting service providers, artists and goods. LED lighting has long been standard.

The varied menus on our food trucks include vegetarian and vegan dishes such as delicious quark balls, ice cream, waffles, muffins, lard cakes, burgers, bowls, chips, hand bread, crepes, tarte flambée, fish sandwiches, falafel and sheep's cheese.

We want to avoid long transport routes and at the same time prioritise working with suppliers of regional products. This is one of the most important criteria when choosing our food trucks and service providers.

Our tip: There is nothing better than a picnic on the beach or on the beach terraces. Bring a deliciously filled picnic basket to the event and enjoy the food and drink you brought from home to your heart's content.

We want to avoid packaging waste and have therefore chosen to partner with RECUP/-BOWL. You simply get delicious food and cool drinks TO GO in the practical reusable containers and return them later (either directly at the catering stand or at any participating RECUP/-BOWL station) for a deposit - no waste! You can also bring your own lunch box. But you can also do without a deposit: our local partners work with reusable crockery and, in exceptional cases, with compostable disposable crockery made from renewable raw materials.

That's why we try to create as little waste as possible in the first place. It is currently almost impossible to avoid packaging materials in the production process. We try to recycle as much as possible. We also work with our food vendors to collect food waste and use it to produce new energy.

For all our events we don't use multi-page event flyers, but postcards with a QR code. This way you can always find the most important information about the festival and you can also think of your loved ones at home and send them a card. We have come up with something special for the festival postcards: they are mixed with flower seeds and will make sure that you have flowering memories of a wonderful festival time at home.

"Would you like another tree?" Together with #GEMEINSAMBUDDELN, we want to offset our share of the transport and travel to and from the festival by planting trees - and the special thing about it is that: We are planting the trees with #GEMEINSAMBUDDELN right here in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck! You also have the opportunity to offset the use of fossil fuels for travel to and from the festival and the preparation of food by buying a tree. You will even receive a certificate!

The SEEBADKULTUR.FESTIVAL is for everyone who loves sun, beach, music and the sea. The beach promenade and the stepless beach crossing at the beach terraces to the event area are easily accessible for people with limited mobility. A barrier-free toilet is located close to the event at the Tourist-Information, Am Leuchtenfeld 10a.
