Magic of Lights in Travemünde from 18-20 September 2025

When summer by the sea slowly draws to a close, a very special kind of magic goes to work in Travemünde. Celebrate with us the Festival of 1,000 Lights in the bewitching Godewind Park! Trees, lake and meadows are transformed into a sparkling sea of light in the evening hours. Enjoy the fairytale atmosphere with fire shows, live music and street theatre! Stroll past exotic light installations! Culinary delicacies await you, inviting you to linger while you let the magic of the moment take effect.

Every year in September, Travemünde welcomes the autumn with poetry and fairy dust in the magical Godewind Park. In September 2024, the park and lake will once again be bathed in the romantic glow of countless lights. Every day between 5.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m., you will be greeted by poetic performances on the enchanting natural stage in Travemünde.

Our tip: On the Thursday, a large lantern procession will start at 6.30 p.m. from the Kleiner Fährplatz and lead through Travemünde with the subsequent opening of the Festival in Godewind Park. Soft background music lets the light installations speak for themselves – enjoy the inspiration. The artistic supporting programme then starts on the Friday.

Travemünde will see out the summer season in Godewind Park with a laser show and poetic cabaret. Atmospheric illuminations, artistry, live music and street theatre will surprise you on every corner on your stroll through the park and invite you to relax and enjoy. The special climax every year is the laser show on the Friday evening at 10.30 p.m.
